ToB NPC mod for testing

The first test version for my new NPC mod is now available.



The mod is based on an original game NPC, the northern berserker woman you find enslaved in Yaga-Shura's lair when you search for his heart.

This is the initial playable version that gives a rough idea about the mod. Further content is under development and test.

The mod works for BG2EE and EET. It can be installed on a running game provided you did not reach Yaga-Shura's areas yet. (In case of EET you must uninstall EET_end, then install the mod, then re-install EET_end.)

There is an extra option if Wheels of Prophecy is installed prior Ehlastra.

    It means that if EET is not yet installed, I just have to wait that the first part of EET is installed, then Wheels of Prophecy, thenI can install Ehlastra any time before EET-end right?

    Right.
    I have also added the mod to Install Tool in Expert status. Anyway, I still add more content - currently it is just the skeleton outline even if it is playable until ToB end already.

  • Almost 2 years later...

    So I tried to tell Elahstra to wait for me outside Saradush, but she disappeared anyway.   

    (A general complaint about modded companions... please make them be able to be recruited later and also be made to wait for those times I don't have an available slot.  Thematically, it might not make sense that way, but there's no thematic reason for the party size to be capped at 6, either.)

    There is an option to send her to the pocket plane. You must have found her personal weapon in Yaga Shura's lair before.

    Yes, I did find her weapon before meeting her.  Also, at some point it said that weapon was removed from my inventory (before I met her).

    Could you check (probably you need NI to look at a savegame) if this Local variable is set correctly in HGSlv01.cre:
    "axenotback" what is the local value?

    Otherwise, maybe you can zip a save and I may try to find the error.
  • Unfortunately, that was from my BG2ee only playthrough and I no longer have that setup since I converted to EET.  I have a save from that playthrough however that I can send later today.

    I would assume that the setting of a global may have been missed due to another mod blocking something in an area script - I will see if I add a safety feature to the mod for such a case (You find her slasher before you find her but her script may already have detected the item in your inventory....a timing issue).

  • Darn it, I've already blown past this part of ToB.  I'll try it on the next run.  Can't wait to try it.
